Stitched Strawberry Hat

1. Sew buttons onto hat. 

This simples project starts off with a hat, you can use a baseball cap, bucket hat, or any pre-made hat. Once you have the hat of your choice, grab your sewing needle and thread. Start off by laying out the buttons where you would like to add them. Then using your needle and thread, sew the buttons onto the hat. Once you have sewn on all your buttons, you are ready to move on to embroidering! 

2. Add Embroidered details.

The next step to creating your adorable new hat is to add embroidered details. This can be leaves, smaller flowers, bird, etc. For this hat, we decided to let the button be the star of the show and just add embroidered leaves and stems for the daisies. Start off by using a simple back stitch to create the stems for the front of the hat with a bright green DMC floss, we used 2 threads. Then use a simple leaf stitch to add leaves along the stems.  We also used this same stitch to add leaves to the flowers on the back of the hat.

3. Enjoy your new hat!

Once you are happy with the embrodiered details, you have your cute hat! Pair this hat with Spring or Summer outfits for a trendy look.
