DIY Faux Easter Eggs: Budget-Friendly and Beautiful!

Expensive egg prices don’t have to mean skipping Easter egg decorating this year! With a little creativity and some budget-friendly supplies from Michaels or Dollar Tree’s floral section, you can craft stunning faux Easter eggs that last for years. Grab some decorative eggs, glue, and Dress It Up embellishments to create one-of-a-kind designs perfect for decorating your home or gifting.

Supplies:

  • Faux Eggs
  • Glue (we used a glue gun)
  • Dress It Up Embellishments
  • Optional: ribbons, rhinestones, flowers
  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Lay down some newspaper or a craft mat to keep your area clean. Gather all your supplies so you have everything within reach.
  2. Paint (Optional):
If you want a custom-colored egg, paint your faux eggs with acrylic paint. Let them dry completely before moving on to the next step.
  3. Plan Your Design: Before gluing, arrange your embellishments on the eggs to get an idea of your design. You can create patterns, floral designs, or even monogrammed initials!
  4. Glue Your Embellishments: Using a hot glue gun or craft glue, carefully attach the Dress It Up embellishments to your eggs. Press each piece down firmly and let the glue dry.
  5. Add Finishing Touches: For extra flair, tie a ribbon or twine around the eggs or add glitter for a sparkling effect.
  6. Display or Gift: Once dry, your DIY faux Easter eggs are ready to be displayed in a basket, used in an Easter centerpiece, or given as gifts!

These handcrafted eggs are a great way to celebrate Easter without breaking the bank. Get creative and have fun decorating!
